Take Off!

Have you been dying to get away but simply not planned a trip yet? Have stresses been piling up so that you absolutely must escape from them for a little while? Sometimes procrastination can pay off! There are plenty of opportunities to save money if you've the flexibility to take off quickly and the sense of adventure to enjoy it. Maybe a last-minute getaway is just the ticket!

What form will your getaway take? With about ninety airlines flying out of Heathrow to over a hundred and eighty locations worldwide, you have a myriad of choices. Perhaps you want to lie on the sand, responsible for nothing and no one, as the sun on your face washes away your worries. In that case, you might search for a last-minute flight deal to the Canary Islands or Spain's Costa del Sol. If you have accumulated miles on an airline such as British Airways, you may find discounted miles requirements for last-minute flights through them as well. If you've always wanted to take a cruise, heading out at the last minute can save you money there, too. The nice thing about a cruise is that, after you've handled the packing and the Heathrow airport parking, most of the other details have been arranged for you, so you really can relax as the world floats by.

In order to make your getaway particularly refreshing, you want everything to run as smoothly as possible. If you prefer leaving all the details up to someone else, you might search out last-minute deals on package tours. If your sense of adventure leaves you open to new experiences, you might simply find a cheap flight and a discounted hotel in a city you've never visited, and explore on your own. Pave the way to a smooth departure by checking out the many options for Heathrow airport parking. You can save money with an offsite park and ride location with valet services to the airport. A truly easy option would be to arrange a "Meet and Greet," wherein you drive straight to the terminal and your car is collected there to be transported to the offsite parking.

Planning carefully for a trip has its advantages, but an impulsive last-minute getaway can be exhilarating!

Flight Pro Simulator Review

If you would like to fly an airplane but you lack the license, the funds and the time, you should take a look at the flight simulator games out there.

Several flight simulations compete for your attention and your money. There are some free flight simulators that give you a basic idea of what flying could be like. The graphics are sometimes quite good but unfortunately they are not very realistic.

6 features you should look out for when you choose a flight simulator:

1. Graphics and scenery: A state of the art flight sim will have decent looking video animations and, very important, a realistic map of the world. Wherever you fly, the flight sim should have correctly mapped scenery and landscape.

2. Selection of planes: How many different planes are available to fly? Check for military and passenger airplanes, turboprop and jet stream, helicopters and carrier airplanes.

3. Weather and time: A flight simulation should offer realistic weather that challenges your pilot skills. Ideally, weather and time can be customized or synchronized with real world conditions.

4. Realistic cockpit and controls: Make sure your flight sim offers a cockpit view that is modeled correctly after the real plane.

5. Additional features and add-ons available: If the flight sim has an active developer team or community, you will find add-ons and additional features being published regularly. This will help if you ever get bored.

6. Aircraft Carriers: If you find a flight sim with integrated aircraft carriers, you might have a great time. Its challenging to start and land your airplane on a carrier, especially at night, but it's a great experience and it will glue you to the screen until you have mastered it.

I have long searched for a good flight simulator that includes as many of the above mentioned features as possible. Unfortunately, most modern flight games focus solely on military conflicts, arcade flying experience and multiplayer battles. While there is nothing wrong with that, it is not what I was looking for: a realistic flight experience.

Ibiza Experiences

Often called the "White Isle", Ibiza is widely regarded as the most beautiful of the Balearic Islands. It boasts spectacular cliffs, sandy coves, pine forests, ancient villages, and an almost perfect climate. Ibiza is of course famous for its pulsating nightlife, parties and clubs which act like a huge magnet for the young and care free. This year may be the time to visit as it can be enjoyed without flashing too much cash and is only a short flight from Britain.

I took the time late last summer to hunt the bargains and although Ibiza is believed to be the haunt of the rich and famous celeb set, it is quite possible to enjoy this fantastic island to the full without breaking the bank. The best way to go about planning your cheap holiday is to travel before or after the peak summer months when the crowds descend and to book yourself on an all inclusive deal. Not only do you pay about half the cost of accommodation by doing this, you also have a flight thrown in for the bargain. I personally searched for cheap travel online and came up with an amazing deal, £169 per person for 7 nights in a 3star hotel, flight and food included. In many ways if you are happy to use the hotel as a base from which to explore this stunning island then you really can't go wrong.

I travelled with my partner to the resort of Es Cana, very much a friendly resort popular with families and couples alike with its crescent shaped beach and fishing harbour. Our week started with a spot of sight seeing, some of the ancient walls of the old part of Ibiza Town were quite something. A stroll around the Ibiza Old Town is a must, as is taking in a coffee or an ice cream in one of the small traditional cafes. The harbour area of Ibiza town is also worth a visit, we spent a couple amusing hours sipping sangria in a bar late one afternoon watching the promenading Drag Queens!

Shopping is great in Ibiza town, with lots of market stalls and a good selection of trendy little boutiques. A lazy afternoon on the beach was next on the menu, so we headed for Talamanca beach. This beach is long and sandy with a wooden boardwalk running the entire length of the beach offering good restaurants. The beach is popular and is only a 15 mins stroll from the town past the marina, alternatively you can reach it by bus or ferry from the marina. Later in the week we discovered favourite beach was Las Salinas on the southern most tip of Ibiza. It is named after the salt lakes and is the "in" beach to hang out and watch the party animals unwind whilst dipping in the crystal clear waters. This particular beach is famed for great for celeb spotting, especially footballers.

You don't visit Ibiza without sampling some nightlife, and the best for us were Space and Pacha, although Privilege was pretty memorable too. The clubs charge high entrance fees, so it is worth having a few drinks before entering, and just having soft drinks inside. We felt that we had experienced a little bit of everything. By booking a cheap holiday offer you can use the hotel as a base and still enjoy the authentic villages, picturesque coves, simple bars, traditional restaurants and electric nightlife without spending huge amounts of money. It would be a shame to depart from this enchanting island without sampling all it has to offer.

Avoid Packing Problems

Airlines are feeling the economic pinch and passing costs down to the passengers by way of luggage restrictions. Overseas flights are being limited to 2 pieces of checked baggage. How does one pack these days to make the most of your vacation wardrobe and still allow room in your bags to bring home the bargains you find during your travels?

Most people pack too much! Pack smart.

Tip #1 - Take 2 suitcases but pack one inside another. Only fill the inside one with things for your trip, and that will allow you the space on the return flight in the second bag for those items you pick up like souvenirs or the clothes you can't resist while shopping.

Tip#2 - Weigh your luggage before you leave. Find soft-sided luggage that is light-weight. You will be surprised how heavy some of those bags are just empty! Avoid the extra charges at the airline scales by knowing that your suitcase is within the limits.

Tip #3 - Pack lightweight items. Think of your clothes in terms of weight. Do you really need to pack a terry robe or do you have a cotton lounger that will double as a cover-up by the pool as well as a robe in the room? When going to tropical countries you should think seersucker, cotton or rayon. They wash out quickly, and often dry on a hanger overnight.

Try to find materials that are soft and "crush resistant", but don't worry, nearly all hotels these days can provide you with an iron!

Tip #4 - Utilize your wardrobe. There are ways to stretch your fashion look, by mixing and matching. Think of colors that work well together so you can mix your pieces as many ways as possible. Also think of ways to get multiple uses out of an item:

Pull a cotton skirt over your bathing suit, tie a soft scarf at the waist, and you are set to shop.

Use a white blouse as a cover-up on the beach, as well as over another top in place of a sweater for cooler days.

Walking shorts are more versatile than "short shorts". They can go to the golf club, the mall or to the night clubs.

A simple sun dress can be worn day or dressed up for evening, and so can a skirt.

Tip #5 - Always pack a simple plastic bag. Use it for any wet garments that need to go in your suitcase, for bringing home your soiled laundry or for holding your dusty shoes

Tip #6 - Speaking of shoes- try to keep it simple. One pair of neutral sandals will take you almost anywhere day or night, and wear your good walking shoes on the plane so that the weight does not go in the suitcase. Your feet will thank you if you have to chase down a taxi, or be on your feet during connecting flights.

Tip #7 - Accessorize! The way to change looks is in the secret of accessorizing. That white blouse that you wore tied at the waist over your bathing suit also looks great paired with linen walking shorts, and a fabulous necklace. The little knit top that you wore yesterday with your shorts, now looks different paired with your skirt and bangles on your wrist.

Tip #8 - As you lay out each clothing piece when you pack, coordinate the jewelry that ties it all together. Think earrings, bracelets, scarf and necklaces that will change each look, or compliment the outfit. Here, too, keep it simple and think minimalism.

Tip #9 - Sample list of a woman's standard wardrobe to pack for 1 week:

2 swimsuits ( one piece and 2 piece)

2 pair walking shorts (neutral colors)

1 light-weight skirt

2 knit tops (1 sleeveless)

1 white or cream-colored blouse

1 pair seersucker or soft knit pants

1 sun dress

PJ's (optional!)

Tip #10 - Concentrate on the experience of your vacation rather than the limitations of your wardrobe. It's all about having fun, and that does not mean stressing over what to wear! The fewer the choices, the easier you will find it to pick an outfit. Besides, there are all those great purchases just waiting in the shops you will visit!

Happy holidays, and bye-bye baggage blues!

Budget Airline Travel Tips - 3 Keys to Saving Over $300 on Your Next Flight!

Budget airline travel tips are necessary in the modern economy if you are looking to fly somewhere, because let's face it; we all want to save money, and not very many of us can afford to pay full prices for airline travel. Here I am going to share with you 3 tips that you can start using today in order to ensure a great deal on your next airline trip.

1. The first thing that you need to do is check departure times from your airport to your desired destination. Once you have done this, you need to find any times where a flight is leaving at a weird hour, such as late at night or early morning. Sometimes this happens, and often times these flights do not fill up. As a result, you will be able to save a ton of money by getting a ticket that did not sale, and can save 50% or more!

2. The second thing that you can do is contact the airlines directly about any specials they are currently offering. Doing so will put you ahead of the game, because most people do not even consider this option. I am here to tell you that if you do this, you can save a ton of cash. The real key is to call after midnight, when the automatic systems update has just occurred. This will get you the best prices on airline travel because these are the hot new deals, and is one of the great budget airline travel tips!

3. The third thing that you can do is find someone in the industry who is wiling to share tips and secrets with you. This has worked very well for me to get budget airilne travel, and I have found that I can save over $300 per flight on average by using the methods I learned. Former employees are great for this, so try this strategy and you will never pay close to full price again for an airline ticket!

Flight to Safety - Inflation Really is Coming

If you want to preserve anything you have, you will soon need to own gold. It will be the ultimate flight to safety in a storm of historic proportions.

Many economists have lately taken flight into fantasy instead. They say that governments around the world can create vast amounts of new currency, bailing out each other and the banks without any unintended consequences. In this rosy view, the fact that some prices have not risen to reflect the swelling tides of currency indicates that "inflation is dead."

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Inflation is a monetary phenomenon. It occurs when the amount of money in existence increases relative to the economic output of a country. One effect of inflation is a succession of financial bubbles, as fixed assets are first to absorb the increase of money. We've seen that. Beyond that, inevitably, will come the increase in consumer prices. So why hasn't there been price inflation yet? And what will be the end game to all this monetary expansion?

Although there have been some economic forces involving the influx of cheap Chinese goods into the United States that have helped hold prices down, these economic forces are actually minor (now) compared to the monetary forces currently in stalemate. It is these economic forces which put us between a rock and a hard place.

Very simply, because banks are now engaged in a tremendous carry trade of borrowing from the U.S. Federal Reserve at essentially zero interest and lending to the U.S. government at over 3 percent (by buying treasury bonds), they are not lending into the private economy. They could, thanks to the wonders of the fractional reserve system, lend ten times as much money into existence if they began lending to private enterprises, but this seems risky compared to the sure carry trade profits. Anything that forced banks to start lending to private enterprise would unleash tremendous currency growth, doubling, tripling or more the money supply. The government knows this, of course, and thus despite the lip service paid to "getting the banks to lend," no one in government really has any intention whatsoever of causing that to happen. Rather, they will do what they can to prevent it from happening.

It will happen anyway for several reasons. First, by choking off of credit, the banks are killing American industry, which is howling and will eventually exert sufficient political pressure to change things. Likewise, as long as there is no credit, unemployment will not improve, and the government numbers showing nominal improvements in unemployment are a farce. On a larger scale, economies where there is a flow of capital to industry will increasingly out-compete American industry. Secondly, the carry trade is a huge subsidy of the banks. As people come to understand that the government has set up a three-linked lending operation (to itself through the banks) and is giving the banks a fee to perpetuate the fraud, there will be pressure to end it. That pressure is already growing.

The main reason, though, is the nature of the transaction itself. The government is borrowing half of the money it uses, but because the money is borrowed there is little real pressure to reduce spending. Spending therefore increases, as every expense creates a dedicated constituency determined to continue the flow of federal largesse. These dollars are borrowed into existence at an increasing rate. If anything happens to reduce the influx of foreign money into the equation, or if people ever really grasp what is going on, there will be a flight from the currency. Interest rates will have to increase to allow government to continue to operate.

Current treasury rates are between three and four percent. The way the carry trade works, the banks borrow at short-term rates (measured in weeks or months) and lend back at long-term rates (measured in 3, 10 or 30 years). The banks continually roll-over these short-term loans to keep paying them off. When something causes the short term rates to exceed 3%, the banks will be threatened with an economic collapse which makes anything that has happened over the past several years look like a walk in the park. Specifically, the banks will be locked into loans amounting to many trillions of dollars over a period of many years. They will have to borrow, for example, at 10% to pay back the money they had lent at 3%. That will either force the banks to lend to the private sector or will collapse the banking industry as we know it.

Right now, the death throes of the euro are causing a flight out of the euro into the relative safety of the U.S. dollar. This has caused the reduction of interest rates required to sell the treasury bonds, a result wrongly hailed by economists and stock pushers as an indication of strength in the American economy. It is a temporary fix. Whenever the euro is either stabilized or put to rest, or whenever it at least is allowed to take on a predictable value, the flow into U.S. treasurys will cease. That day will mark the beginning of the end for the largest of all the financial bubbles: government debt and the U.S. dollar.

That's when you better own gold.

Piper Warrior Simulator - Flight Training in the New Economy

Taking a hard look at the wayward path on which the global economy is treading in this day and age, it really should not come as any sort of surprise that there has been a significant decline in general aviation as a mode of transportation, as a hobby, and as an economically viable and profitable industry. This is especially true of the single engine, non-commercial category of aircraft, which are used mainly by hobbyists or student pilots undergoing flight instruction.

If you have always wanted to learn how to fly airplanes, but you just don't think that you have the means to be able to afford to pay for flying lessons at the present time, then there is one economical alternative for you to consider, and that is for you to learn to fly with using a computer-based Piper Warrior simulator.

The Piper Warrior series of aircraft happens to be one of the most commonly used basic training general aviation aircraft available on the market today. It is widely available through many of the flight schools across the world.

By learning how to pilot a single engine aircraft by using a flight simulator, you will be able to save a great deal of money on what may be otherwise very expensive flight training lessons.

The idea behind this is that you can use a flight simulator in the interim. And when the economy finally does improve and your own personal financial situation will allow it, by then you will have had the opportunity to practice flying in the Piper Warrior flight simulator, and you will already be up to speed on the operation of the aircraft.

So making the transition from the Piper Warrior flight simulator to the real thing should be relatively seamless at that point.

Learn More About a Flight Attendant

One will be able to know more about a flight attendant by reading flight attendant job descriptions available on job postings given by airlines or through the internet. It is important to know what a flight attendant does especially if you are looking forward to taking a job as one.

An attendant should be at least 18 to 21 years of age with a pleasing personality. He should also pass certain health and height requirements that are important for him to be able to do his work properly. He should also be able to handle emergency situations with ease especially for unforeseen circumstances during the flight. He is generally responsible in ensuring that the people on board the plane are comfortable and safe especially the children who are flying without adult companions.

Aside from the said main responsibility, an attendant is also responsible for matters that are indirectly related to the passengers such as ensuring that there is adequate food supply, that the first aid kit is complete and inventories of blankets, headsets and any other materials that the passengers ask from them. It is also their task to greet the passengers and assist them to their seats, give them what they need and answer their questions regarding the flight. They are also responsible for people with medical conditions that should be properly observed and they are the people who need to assure passengers especially during emergency situations. She/he can also hold a supervisor position, in which case, he watches over the other flight attendants and ensures that they are doing their jobs properly.

Knowing all the tasks at hand for a flight attendant, it is important for them to have the qualities that will allow them to do their jobs well such as having grace under pressure, being organized and having knowledge about the airplane's procedures and also details about the flight.

Next Flight Out (NFO) Service

Next flight out, or NFO service, refers to a rush service that promises delivery of a shipment as soon as possible. While this type of service is expensive, it is probably not something most businesses would have to use on a regular basis. However, urgent situation do occasionally arise, making last minute shipments necessary. Time-sensitive documents and other packages of a similar nature may need to be shipped out-of-state, across the country, or internationally. A courier in Atlanta is likely to offer this service at an additional charge applicable. You should not use such a service unless absolutely for necessary, for obvious reasons. However, if you do find yourself in this situation, call your courier in Atlanta and ask what kind of NFO service they offer, and what kind of conditions and stipulations surround it.

NFO services can make a huge difference in determining the arrival date of your package. If you can wait an extra day to have your parcel delivered, then NFO is probably not something you necessarily need to worry about. However, next day delivery is often dependent upon NFO, particularly in areas that have less airport traffic. In large metropolitan areas such as Atlanta, the next flight out could literally be any minute. The additional cost of this service may be well worth it to get the shipment to its destination in the quickest amount of time. Using this service, it is not uncommon to get time-sensitive materials to their proper recipient ahead of the time curve. When this happens, the client is generally ecstatic, and greatly appreciates the extra effort that you have invested in going above and beyond their expectations.

Couriers in Atlanta are usually very talented at finding flights that connect to the corresponding areas, ensuring that your shipment gets to its destination as fast as and efficiently as possible. Using their databases to find these flights is a specialty that many courier services have, and many businesses are simply not aware of their existence. Check with your courier regarding their NFO services and guarantees, and what technology is in use to track the flights that will ultimately carry your parcel to its appointed delivery location. While it may not seem like an important issue currently, the time may come when you require NFO service, and it is better to be prepared and know what to expect than to be rushing around, frustrated and frazzled at the last minute.

Skiing and Snowboarding at Big White

Skiing and snowboarding has never been more popular with people in the UK. This has been largely driven in recent years by the increasing amount of low cost, budget holidays available in Europe. Traditional skiing countries such as France, Austria and Switzerland have now been joined by Andorra, and an increasing number of Eastern European countries such as Bulgaria.

Whilst these new countries have added variety and competition to the European market, the downside is that slopes throughout Europe are getting more and more crowded. Add to this the questionable snowfall in lower resorts and poor snow record over recent years and it is no wonder that people are looking further afield for their ski holidays.

North American resorts in both the USA and Canada have an enviable snow record and some of the best powder in the world. If you are used to skiing or boarding in icy and wet European conditions you will be in for a real treat.

There is more to skiing in North America than the traditional resorts of Vail, Aspen and Whistler. One resort that is cashing in on the influx of foreign tourists is big white in British Columbia. Located in the picturesque Okanagan Valley, and with an average snowfall of almost 25 feet of dry champagne powder it is little wonder that the resort is growing in international popularity.

Big white is the largest ski in ski out resort in Canada, with all accommodation offering the luxury of stepping straight out onto the slopes. There are 118 marked runs with over 2 1/2 thousand acres of skiable terrain. There is also an award-winning terrain park for snowboarders and extreme skiers, and deep powder bowls lined with snow ghosts.

Big white is one of North America's premier family destinations, offering activities for all the family including night skiing, snow tubing, ice skating, mini snow mobiles, fireworks and much more.

Whether you choose to stay in Europe will decide to explore further afield you will generally lose one day travelling. Although flight times to European resorts are much shorter by the time you have added in travelling to the airport, checking in, waiting in departures, and coach transfer times the difference becomes less obvious. So why don't you try a new experience. Once you have experienced truly world-class powder, no lift queues, and extremely friendly locals you might think twice about going back to Europe.

Piper Cherokee Flight Simulator Vs Flying a Real Aircraft

There should be absolutely no reason why anyone who has been training exclusively with a Piper Cherokee flight simulator could not make the smooth transition to flying an actual real life Piper Cherokee aircraft.

The entire instrument panel of an actual Piper Cherokee is available in a simulator program, a precise replica down to the minutest detail, including even the Piper logo.

Not only does the simulation look just like the real Piper aircraft. It behaves just like one too. The manner in which the aircraft performs in a simulation is exactly the way its real life counterpart performs during real flight. Aircraft performance, flight aerodynamics, the aircraft's response to external weather conditions, and even weight, balance, and G-forces are all mimicked perfectly.

The wonderful thing about a flight simulator is that it teaches you all of the fundamentals of flight. So when you are ready to make the transition to the real airplane, you will already have a head start. The learning curve will be a lot shallower.

Flight simulators do not necessarily have to be exclusively relegated for use by novice student pilots. They can also most certainly be used by experienced pilots to brush up on their techniques, practice and experiment with various maneuvers, or even to fly "dry runs" of actual cross country flights in the simulator in order to gain familiarity with the route before you actually venture out and fly the route in real life.

The differences between operating a Piper Cherokee flight simulator vs flying its real life counterpart are minor and both can be used interchangeably to help you learn the basic fundamentals of flight.
